This faux finish gives plaster the look of black onyx, which is a striped, semiprecious type of agate. In real onyx, the alternating white seams form under intense pressure deep within the earth's crust. Our artisans have captured this primordial shoving match for the black side of your chess set. The complete set made out of real black onyx would cost about half a million dollars. Tell the neighbors you got a raise!
Each piece comes complete with a rubber base pad
for play that will not scratch a chessboard.
These MegaChess pieces are finished to be water resistant with the best polyurethane varnish in the world (WoodKote's Flagship UV), but unlike many MegaChess sets, they are not waterproof.
